Tin churches were popular in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries as they could be constructed relatively quickly and cheaply. Many tin churches were later replaced by grander structures. St Fillan’s was built in 1886. It has undergone relatively limited alterations. As of the early 2020s weekly services were still held at St Fillan’s.
