Documentation can be found at http://github/MetsExport/ Kilrenny Parish Church There has been Christian activity at Kilrenny since Pictish times, and it is likely that there was an early medieval church on or near the site of the present day parish church. In the 1160s patronage of the church at Kilrenny was granted to Dryburgh Abbey by Countess Ada de Warenne. The medieval parish church survived the Reformation. However, in the early 1800s the majority of the church was rebuilt. Today, the fifteenth-century church tower is the most notable part of the medieval building to still exist, although there are other sections of older masonry at the western end. In 2017 Kilrenny became part of the new combined parish of St Ayle.
